Christian Dior's creations often appeared in British Vogue. This photograph was taken in 1948 by Photographer Clifford Coffin and was featured on the 1948 Oct oberedition of Vogue Paris. The fashion shoot featuring the Paris collections, model Wenda Parkinson née Rogerson, stands amongst the pillars in the Grand Trianon garden terrace in Versailles. She wears a satin Dior evening gown featuring a bare back, full skirt with inverted pleats, and an asymetric wrapped neckline. This exclusive photograph has been selected from the prestigious archive of British VOGUE © The Condé Nast Publications Ltd.

About the Artist

Clifford Coffin is known as one of Vogue's "lost" photographers but for over a decade he produced some of its most elegant fashion pictures, as this selection from British Vogue's archives demonstrate.

Many of his sitters were captured at the outset of their careers; Audrey Hepburn was an early discovery of his – she modelled for him before turning to acting.

Coffin's cutting edge photography was synonymous with Vogue's vision and this is a truly beautiful collection of fashion images to grace any wall.
